A drainage cover, also commonly known as a drain grate, drain lid, manhole cover (for larger types), or simply a grate, is a protective and functional covering placed over a drainage opening. Its primary purpose is to allow water or other liquids to pass through into the drainage system while preventing larger debris from falling in or entering the system.
